Jute bag mandatory for six items
The textile and jute ministry on Thursday issued an order making the use of jute bag mandatory for carrying and preserving any quantity of rice, paddy, wheat, maize, fertiliser and sugar aiming to implement the Jute Packaging Act, 2010, reports news agency UNB.
According to the order, the ‘20 kgs and above’ in the previous order issued on 5 February, 2014 regarding the use of jute bags in packaging has been revoked.
On 5 February 5, the ministry issued an order making jute bag use mandatory for carrying and preserving these six items weighing 20 kgs and above.
