Centering the municipality elections on December 30, Bangladesh Boarder Guard (BGB) will remain deployed for five days in a bid to maintain law and order situation.
Election Commissioner Md Shahnewaz made the disclosure on Sunday afternoon.
BGB will be deployed at all the municipalities where the polls will be held, he said adding that BGB will remain in the field for five days-- on the election day, two days before the election and two days after.
“Two platoons of BGB members will be deployed at the municipalities which have more than one lakh voters while one platoon of BGB members will be deployed which municipalities have less than one lakh voters,” he said.
According to the schedule, voting for municipality elections will be held on December 30. So, following this declaration, the BGB will be deployed at the municipalities under polls from Monday.
